A generation ago, continent-sized storms called hypercanes caused the Earth to flood. The survivors were forced to retreat deep underground and build a new society.
This is the story that sixteen-year-old Jansin Nordqvist has heard all of her life.
Jansin grew up in a civilization far below the Earth’s surface. She’s spent the last eight years in military intelligence training. So when her parents surprise her with a coveted yet treacherous trip above ground, she’s prepared for anything. She’s especially thrilled to feel the fresh air, see the sun, and view the wide-open skies and the ocean for herself.
But when raiders attack Jansin’s camp and take her prisoner, she is forced to question everything she’s been taught. What do her captors want? How will she get back underground? And if she ever does, will she want to stay after learning the truth?

At the moment I seem to be reading so many dystopia books that I am afraid that one day I’ll read one and be put off the genre. Luckily Some Fine Day wasn’t the one. Which was the best thing ever as I seriously enjoyed this book and as you will see will recommend to everyone!!

Some Fine Day  is set in the not-too-distant future where the affects of climate change has forced the human population to live underground. To live above ground means playing a deadly dance with the hypercanes. Jansin finds herself at a crossroads when a holiday of a life-time means she can venture up to the surface. Should she follow the plan her father has made for her when it comes to her career? Or should she follow heart? Does she even have a choice?

The two most frustrating elements of this book is the romance between Jansin and Will and the ending. With the romance feels a bit false. I could see the attraction, but for the feelings to be so strong that she would risk everything? It just didn’t seem right.

And the ending. Ok it was definitely not a cliffhanger but neither did the story feel like it had ended. There’s a hint that there is more to the story, another story to come. While this was annoying I am quite hoping for another story… I feel that this ended too quickly because of the loose ends that are left lying around.

Some Fine Day has a bit of everything: some romance, some adventure, a great plot,  and characters you can’t but help root for. Some Fine Day  will make you realise that really, as humans we should take responsiblity for our actions. As often there are times when the outcome is extreme…
