The wonderfully romantic new novel from the No. 1 Sunday Times bestselling author of Recipe for Love.
Three years ago Bella Castle left her home town nursing a broken heart over Dominic Thane, the man she fell in love with but couldn’t have …Now she’s made a new life for herself in the country, working as an estate agent.
Bella loves her job and she loves her boyfriend Nevil. But recently he’s been preoccupied, and she’s starting to question if his future hopes and dreams are a perfect match for hers.
And when Dominic turns up unexpectedly in search of his dream house, she begins to wonder if home is really where the heart is. But she’s over him, isn’t she?

There were so many moments I loved about The Perfect Match. I loved the premise of Bella as an estate agent, as it allowed for amusing moments, especially when Bella had to contend with the fussy Mr & Mrs Agnew. Also cake-baking Jane Langley was beautifully portrayed. And someone who I would definitely go to for a bit of cake and a chat. The descriptions of the types of houses Bella was attempting to sell and gardening details added to the atmosphere of the book (the houses/gardens descriptions will make you feel jealous).

Bella is one of two protagonists, the other is her godmother Alice. I loved Alice’s story. It was lovely for a romantic plot to focus on a woman dating a younger man – Michael (she’s in her 60’s and he’s in his 50’s). Alice also has to deal with Michael’s daughters… who give off vibes that no-one is good enough for their dad. This plot-line shows that it does not matter what age you are when you fall in love or even where you meet them…

The idea that Bella had fled her home town because she had fancied someone who was married seemed a weak idea. I originally thought that something more had happened. Like an actual affair that she felt guilty about or the wife had caught them kissing.  However  this was a minor annoyance, and I thought it was quite noble of Bella to leave her home-town so not to act on her desires.

The Perfect Match is a brilliant title. Not only can it refer to the relationships’ in this book – Alice and Michael, Bella and Dominic – but also the relationship Bella has with her clients – Mr & Mrs Agnew and Jane Langley, so that they can live in their dream house; and the importance of family bonds – Alice and Bella, Dominic and Jane.

This was a fun book, that had me hooked from the start, a perfect match and the perfect distraction!
