Today I am delighted to be part of the Blog Tour for Waiting for Doggo by Mark B. Mills. And today I have a Q&A with Mark B Mills.

I loved Doggo! This was a brilliant, funny and extremely entertaining read. I will at some point attempt to get my dog onto the bus, maybe  into Uni, as a ‘mental health companion’ (thanks so much Mark for this idea!) If you’re still not sure about this book then see my review.

If waiting for Doggo was turned into a movie, who would be you dream team to produce it? And who would you cast as your characters and why?

That certainly would be amazing. In an ideal world I’d want Working Title Films to be involved. I came close to working with them on a few occasions when I was a screenwriter, but the projects never quite came off. Since ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ they’ve cemented their reputation for making great comedy films, everything from rom coms (‘Notting Hill’, ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’) through to farce (‘Johnny English’, ‘Hot Fuzz’). Dreaming on…. while writing the book I had James McAvoy in mind for Dan. He’s such a versatile actor who always manages to bring great sympathy to his characters. Edie is more of a problem. I’m a huge fan of Rebecca Hall – a mesmerizing mix of serious talent and great beauty – but sadly she’s the wrong age for Edie. Maybe Emelia Clarke of ‘Game of Thrones’ fame? There’s a strength about her that fits with Edie’s self-possession.

What is the biggest lie you have told? Or a secret that no one know? Have you managed to incorporate it into your writing? And if so, do you get guilty pleasure every time you see it?

Do you seriously think I’m going to fall for that? I thought the whole point of a secret was that it remained, er, secret. There is one thing I can share with you, although it’s technically not a secret because my daughter Rosie knows. I’m addicted to ‘Made In Chelsea’. I can’t explain it and I’m seeking help for the condition. I’ve never consciously buried something away in one of my books … although I could be lying.

Is there a question that you wish that someone would ask you but no one ever has? How would you answer it?

‘How did you feel when Roy Hodgson brought you off the bench to replace Rooney with ten minutes to go in the game against Germany and you sealed your hat-trick with a bicycle kick from the edge of the box?’

Answer: ‘I felt bad for Wayne.’

So what do you think of my Q&A with Mark B Mills?
