I adored reading the first Ruby Oliver book (The Boyfriend List) so I eagerly dived into The Boy Book. We pick up again pretty much where we left in the first book. But Ruby now seems a lot more wiser and a lot more sure of herself.
It is similar to the first book – there are still high school dramas, boy crushes, ridiculous situations and great analyse from Ruby.
I read this so quickly that I was a bit disappointed when it ended. To be honest I cannot wait to see what happens next to Ruby.
I loved Ruby’s world and everything in it, but this book does make me glad that I am no longer a teenager! Although go Ruby for attempting to sort out all the issues that occurred in the last book. I don’t think I as a teenager would have been brave enough to do it.
Even though the books focus is books, a huge element is about being friends and how you can have different friendship levels and how you can interact and behave differently with different friends.
The Boy Book is a hilarious, sometimes laugh out loud kinda of book, that it left me with a smile on my face and left me wanting the next book in my hands now.
