The Silvered Heart by Katherine Clements Published by Headline on May 7, 2015 Genres: Fiction, Historical Pages: 448 Format: E-Arc, Paperback Source: Netgalley, Publisher Buy on Amazon Goodreads 1648. Orphaned heiress Lady Katherine Ferrers is forced into marriage for the sake of family honour… But with Cromwell’s army bringing England to its knees, her fortune is the real prize her husband desires. As her marriage becomes a prison and her privileged world crumbles, Katherine meets her match in Rafe – a lover who will lead her into a dangerous new way of life where the threat of death lurks at every turn… Enter Kate Ferrers, highwaywoman, the Wicked Lady of legend – brought gloriously to life in this tale of infatuation, betrayal and survival. The Silvered Heart had me hooked from the beginning. So much so that I had to stay up until the early hours in the morning to finish it. The story flows beautifully creating an atmospheric and intense read. Katherine is a complex character. At times she seems selfish and self-absorbed but at other times it is […]

Guest Post: Inspiration behind The Last Honeytrap by Louise Lee, author of The Last Honeytrap

Today I am delighted to be part of the Blog Tour for The Last Honeytrap by Louise Lee. I loved the measures that were taken to ensure that the entrapment was a success and absolutely adored Florence and Michael (see my review). This is undoubtedly a book for everyone, no matter what genre is your favourite! Don’t forget to visit other blog stops along the tour for other great content. Below Louise shares  her Inspiration behind The Last Honeytrap. Inspiration behind The Last Honeytrap: Without realising it, I’ve been writing about Florence Love for years – she just had different names and back stories. But she was never a PI, which is odd given I was one. In retrospect the genre frightened me a lot. PI books tend to be serious and edgy and super-cool. Or serious and edgy and bleak. Or just serious. Trouble is, I’m incorrigibly silly, so my writing didn’t seem to sit in a niche presided over by hard-boiled legends, such as Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler and Ross MacDonald. Then I did an MA in Creative Writing. One of my assignments […]

Review: The Last Honeytrap by Louise Lee

I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The Last Honeytrap by Louise Lee Series: Florence Love #1 Published by Headline on June 4, 2015 Genres: Fiction, Mystery Pages: 368 Format: E-Arc Source: Netgalley Buy on Amazon Goodreads Scot ‘Scat’ Delaney is a world famous jazz singer. He has ample opportunity to stray and his girlfriend, Alice, needs to know she can trust him. Introducing Florence Love, private investigator. Florence has just ten days to entrap an A-lister. Whilst sticking to her cardinal rule: ONE KISS, WITH TONGUES, FIVE SECONDS – CASE CLOSED. A master of body language, evolutionary science and nifty disguises, her approach is unconventional, her success rate excellent. But targets are rarely as beautiful as Scat. Never fall for the target. THAT IS VERY BAD FORM INDEED. So The Last Honeytrap started off like a James Bond movie, a little dalliance, some entrapment before the main event and it sure left me craving more. I loved that it […]
