Blog Tour: Chapater One Extract – Silence Between Breaths by Cath Staincliffe

Today I am delighted to be part of the Blog Tour for Silence Between Breaths by Cath Staincliffe. I’ve been behind with my reading and have not finished reading this book. But I have to say this extract had me picking up this book straight away. Dark and addictive this is one book I am excited to finish! Also please visit other blog stops along the tour for other great content. The Extract: CHAPTER ONE April 2015 Jeff Jeff pelted up the ramp towards Piccadilly station, dodging round all the people dragging suitcases or pushing buggies. He couldn’t miss this train. He couldn’t. His heart hammered in his chest, a pain there, so it hurt to breathe. He ran in through the automatic doors and up to the bank of electronic departure boards, forcing his eyes to slow down, to concentrate. London? London? London Euston? There! 10.35. Platform 7. On time. Shit! His eyes flew to the clock at the base of the screens. 10.32. No! It said on the website the doors closed two minutes before departure. He turned and raced to the gate. He could see the train, but the platform was empty. If he missed it now . […]

Review:Chasing Embers by James Bennett

I received this book for free from the publisher / Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.   Chasing Embers by James Bennett Series: Ben Garston #1 Published by: Orbit on 8th September 2016 Genres: Fiction; Fantasy Pages: 464 Format: Paperback Source: Publisher / Netgalley  Rating:  **** About: Behind every myth, there’s a spark of truth… There’s nothing special about Ben Garston. He’s just a guy with an attitude in a beat-up leather jacket, drowning his sorrows in a downtown bar. Or so he’d have you believe. What Ben Garston can’t let you know is that he was once known as Red Ben. That the world of myth and legend isn’t just a fantasy, as we’ve been led to believe. And he certainly can’t let you know the secret of what’s hiding just beneath his skin… But not even Ben knows what kind of hell is about to break loose. A centuries-old rivalry has just resurfaced, and the delicate balance between his world and ours is about to be shattered. Review: I was initially drawn to this book because of the little sticker that states ‘may contain traces of dragon’, therefore I am happy to report there is more than […]
