Blog Tour: Extract from The Little Christmas Village by Sue Moorcroft

So it is getting to that time of year when Christmas is all around. Today I have a little Extract from The Little Christmas Village by the the brilliant Sue Moorcroft.   The Extract: ‘What are we going to do? How can it have happened?’ Jodie wailed. Alexia felt hot tears ooze from her own eyes. Whether they were for Jodie, Gabe or herself, she couldn’t have said. But, used to Jodie’s emotional reactions, Alexia patted her back while Gabe made hot drinks and fetched tissues. There was nothing to do when Jodie was locked in grief but to allow her to cry it out. Eventually, when the storm had lessened, Gabe accessed the recent bank account transactions to show them that the money had disappeared in a series of withdrawals – cheques on Friday, when they’d all been preoccupied with preparing for the wrecking party, and the rest via Internet banking either side of midnight Saturday/Sunday. ‘You can see the name of the payees!’ crowed Jodie, hope dawning on her red and blotchy face. ‘Look, this one’s a company called […]

Blog Tour: Q&A with Catherine Ferguson, Author of Christmas at the Log Fire Cabin

Today I am delighted to be hosting a Q&A with Catherine Ferguson, author of Christmas at the Log Fire Cabin. Q&A with Catherine Ferguson: 1. Can you in five words describe your book to those who haven’t read it? Funny, festive, family, fabulous food! 2. Was there anything in this book that took you by surprise? There are always some plot twists that don’t reveal themselves until part way through the writing. Towards the end of Christmas at the Log Fire Cabin, I needed to move the action along but wasn’t sure how best to do this. Not wanting to give anything away, a well-known Christmas party game came to mind that solved the problem very well indeed! 3. Do you have a favourite moment in the book? There’s a moment on Christmas Day when the heroine finally stops being a mouse and roars instead. I really enjoyed writing that scene. 4. Name the best book you have read in the last year, your favourite book and the book that is currently at the top of your TBR. I recently […]

Blog Tour / Guest Post: Author Note – Where are the ‘Little Cornish Isles’?, by Phillipa Ashley author of Christmas on the Cornish Isles

So we are getting closer and closer to Christmas. Which means that there are lots and lots of lovely Chrismassy books out including Christmas on the Cornish Isles by Phillipa Ashley. Below Phillipa talks about her inspiration behind the ‘Little Cornish Isles’. Where are the ‘Little Cornish Isles’? The Isles of Scilly are one of my favourite places in the world – not that I’ve travelled that much of the world but I’ve been lucky enough to visit a few locations renowned for their stunning coastlines, including Grenada, St Lucia, Sardinia, Corsica and Southern Australia. There are some beautiful beaches in all of these places but I think the white sands and jewel-like seas of St Mary’s, St Martin’s, St Agnes, Tresco and Bryher are equally, if not more breathtaking, than any of those exotic hotspots. From the moment I first glimpsed Scilly from a tiny Skybus aircraft in September 2014, I was smitten. From the air, the isles look like a necklace of emerald gems fringed by sparkling sands, set in a turquoise, jade and sapphire lagoon. (Just remember […]
