Fairytale Beginnings: A heartwarming romantic comedy
Love is an open door…except when it keeps slamming in your face.
Hopeless romantic Milly Rose has had her fair share of heartbreak. Obsessed with all things Disney, she refuses to give up on finding her Prince Charming – he’s out there somewhere, isn’t he?
When Milly is given a job to investigate the origins of an historical building in the village of Clovers Rest, she’s not sure what to expect. What she discovers takes her breath away - a beautiful real life Cinderella castle, complete with turrets, a magnificent drawbridge AND a very handsome owner…Cameron Heartstone.
As Milly and Cameron begin to unearth the secrets of Clover Castle, they can’t ignore the intense chemistry building between them. But they’ve both been hurt badly before. Can they take a big leap of faith and find their own happily-ever-after?
I was initially struck by the cutesy, quirky book cover, which (in my humble opinion) perfectly portrays what happens in Fairytale Beginnings.
It sounds terrible but my expectations for this book were quite, I thought that it would be some good chick-lit. Enjoyable with a hint of escapism. Instead I got a quirky cute novel that made me fall in love. Also there was Disney and pink and sparkle which always gives me happy feels.
This was a funny sweet read with a sprinkling of magic. I loved the idea of a family curse and the breaking of the curse. Lost treasure and secret passageways. It makes me wish I had my own castle to live in…
Yes the ending is predictable – but if you didn’t get that hint from the title then this is definitely the wrong book for you. It is about the journey and how they get there that makes this book so good. Also Cameron and Millie are characters that you can truly believe in falling in love. Yes it may seem like lust at the beginning but it is real and honest. And doesn’t leave you wondering why they are together.
Read and you will not be disappointed. Fairytale Beginnings will be one of my go to guilty pleasures 🙂
