ONE BOY'S WISH. ONE EXTRAORDINARY LOVE STORY

'Gorgeously written, devastatingly affecting and utterly life-affirming' Miranda Dickinson

Seven-year-old Jake's heart is failing and he doesn't want to leave his dad, Simon, alone. So he makes a decision: to find Simon someone to love before he goes.

Beth is determined to forget the past. But even when she leaves New York to start afresh in a Lake District village, she can't shake the secrets that haunt her.

Single dad Simon still holds a candle for the woman who left him years ago. Every day is a struggle to earn a living while caring for his beloved son. He has no time for finding someone new.

But Jake is determined his plan will succeed - and what unfolds will change all three of them forever.

Unbreak Your Heart is the new book by the incredible Katie Marsh! If there is one book you read this weekend then I seriously recommend this book. This may be one of my favourite reads of 2021.

And as such I am finding it incredibly difficult to review because I can only say good things. Which is not a bad thing. But I am struggling to put my thoughts down about this book.

This was a poignant book that will stay with me for a while. I fell instantly in love with, Beth, Jake and Simon. I instantly wanted to protect them and ensure that they had the best. It was also a bit of a roller coaster of a read, with lots of drama, with all the highs and the lows.

Then there is also the gorgeous location – the Lake District. Perhaps one of the most beautiful places in the UK and one of my favourite places to visit. I felt like I was in familiar place and could easily picture the surroundings. This book also made me want to visit the Lake District all over again and visit place both familiar and new.

I loved Unbreak Your Heart, and it is perhaps my favourite book by Katie Marsh. This about dealing with challenging situations, love, what it means to live and hope and friendship. This was a book that had me laughing and crying throughout and is one book I cannot wait to dive into.
