Through the Letterbox: Royals & Rogues FairyLoot Box Unboxing

Posted December 13, 2016 by Charlotte in Through the Letterbox / 0 Comments

Welcome to Through the Letterbox. So this is my third subscription box from Fairy Loot and I adore it! The theme this months is Royals & Rogues. Fairy Loot is a monthly subscription ya book box based in the UK.

The Box:

In each box you can expect:

  • One recently published Young Adult book,
  • 4-6 goodies often related to the book,
  • promotional items such as posters, bookmarks and a signed bookplate (whenever possible),
  •  a unique hashtag that links you up with one other person receiving a box.

The box is £26 plus shipping at £3.95 (if UK based) bringing it to a grand total of £29.95. Again this box isn’t again I wish that the shipping is including in the price because it is like a hidden extra.

I was super excited for this theme, because hello – Royals and Rogues and the fact that the fairyloot team said ‘If you’re a fan of Throne of Glass, A Court of Mist and Fury, Red Queen, The Wrath and The Dawn, general roguish royalness then you are going to love these items’. So after reading that I knew I was in for a treat.

The Unboxing:

On opening the box I was greeted by lots of purple bits of twirly paper and I could see some of the goodies peeping out. So I did what comes naturally and dived straight in.

All the items were exclusivity designed for the box. Giving it a great unique feel as each item was unveiled.

The book was an intriguing hardbackNemesis by Anna Banks, I’m not sure how I feel about this book. I know that I am not super excited about it and I’m feeling a bit put out about this book because it is a series rather than a single. It just frustrates me. Along with the book there was a letter from the author, a signed bookplatebookmark and a sketch

The Items:

✨ Queen of Books Mug designed by Read At Midnight

The Royals and Rogues Tea from The Tea Leaf Company – this is an Earl Grey loose leaf blend and it if pretty amazing!

✨ The CALIPHA Pocket mirror inspired by The Warth and The Dawn, designed by Bookworm Boutique.

Queen of Terrasen notepad by Alexis from Nerdy Post – this gorgeous notepad was inspired by the Throne of Glass series.

Scented Spectorium Soap Crystal by #craftyragamuffin – which I’m really intrigued by because apparently we won’t understand what the soap symbolises until we read the book – so a really good excuse to start reading!

✨ Red Queen inspired Art Print. The lettering side by Lovely Owls Books and the illustration side by Book Otter

There is a lot packed into this box and I loved all the little extra bits. Like the Fairyscoop Booklet with has a little interview with the author and a pop quiz. And my unique fairyloot code to connect with my reading buddy.

My favourite item were the Mug, it is just perfect to use for tea drinking while reading, and I love the quote on the pocket mirror. Each item was beautiful and things I would use again and again.

While I didn’t love everything in the box (the tote bag for me was vile) I did like the variety of items and loved the fact they were well thought out and really suited the box.

Let me know if you’ve received Royals & Rogue Fairyloot Box, I’d love to know your thoughts. What was your favourite item? And was there anything you didn’t like?
