Cosy up with the new Christmas book from best-selling author Jo Thomas

As a single mum, care-home caterer Connie has thrown herself into online dating - or she had until one dating disaster too many. Now she's hesitant...hurt in the past and with her son to consider, she won’t rush into anything. Then one of Connie's elderly patients sets her up on a date at a beautiful German Christmas market – with the promise she’ll take a mini-bus load of pensioners with her...

Amongst the twinkling lights and smell of warm gingerbread in the old market square, Connie heads off on her date with a check-list of potential partner must-haves. Baker Henrich ticks all the boxes, proving to be reliable, thoughtful and keen. But when Connie meets Henrich's rival William, she starts to wonder if ticking boxes is the answer.

Will Connie find the love of her life this Christmas, and if so - who will it be?

Finding Love at the Christmas Market was a book that just seemed to ooze Christmas sparkle. As I am writing this it is a rainy day, but already I can taste snowflakes, hot chocolate, gingerbread and cinnamon.  This made me want to put on my Christmas jumper and just go to a Christmas market.

I adored this book and devoured it in one sitting. I really loved Connie and I felt like she was a bit down on herself and really need a moment to shine! And you could see her generosity and kindness through the love that you see from her pensioners. Then there is Pearl who is a cool grandma and William who is trying to juggle being a baker and a father.

Then there is the German Market itself in all its glory. Through it all everyone makes a list of their Christmas dreams and try to live them all out. Life after all is about making memories. Whether it is ice skating, singing in a Christmas Choir or being part of the Nativity, every signal activity is covered.

The romance part was slightly predicable, however that is the joy of this sort of book. A cozy comfort read without the stress of not knowing what is going to happen. And in a way I wanted more of the romance. I honestly feel like the story was cut short. There was so much more that I wanted to see and take part in. Or maybe it is because Christmas is the best time of year and I wanted to live vicariously. Either way I just didn’t want to stop read.

Finding Love at the Christmas Market was a Christmas delight and one that I cannot wait to read again and again.  This was one heck of a Christmassy sparkly book.
