Bodyguard by Jessica Linden, James Patterson Published by BookShots on November 1, 2016 Pages: 160 Format: Paperback Source: Publisher Buy on Amazon Goodreads James Patterson’s BookShots. Short, fast-paced, high-impact entertainment. The Most Eligible Bachelor on Capitol Hill has met his match. Abbie Whitmore is good at her job. She knows how to protect people, and she’s always right – until Congressman Jonathan Lassiter comes along. The presidential hopeful refuses to believe that his politics have put him in danger, yet Abbie’s determined to keep him safe. But how can she protect him while she’s guarding her heart?  I really enjoyed Bodyguard, I thought that the action scenes merged nicely with the romance and there were equal amounts of both. I loved that it was Abbie who was in charge of security, she was fierce and took no prisoners. While Johnathon was a well-meaning politician.  Both had amazing chemistry. And passion. With a touch of humour as well, this was the perfect mix. I’m honestly loved that in Bodyguard, there was suspense, action and romance, everything was packed into this short book and it […]

Review: Dazzling by Elizabeth Hayley

Dazzling by Elizabeth Hayley, James Patterson Published by BookShots on November 3, 2016 Genres: Contemporary, Fiction, Novella, Romance Pages: 160 Format: Paperback Source: Publisher Buy on Amazon Goodreads James Patterson’s BookShots. Short, fast-paced, high-impact entertainment. She’s a starving artist and he’s a billionaire playboy… Siobhan came to New York with a purpose: she wants to become a successful artist. To pay her bills in the meantime, she’s the hostess at The Stone Room, a bar for the beautiful and the billionaires. She was fine with being on her own – until tech billionaire Derick takes her breath away. The premise for Dazzling was really good. But then Siobhan became a bit of a pain in the bum, constantly pushing Derrick around and grumbling about how much money he has. I felt that the relationship was a bit one sided and that Derrick was too excepting of Siobhan’s faults. Also, annoyingly there is a massive cliff-hanger. So huge that I honestly felt like they had just split the book into two. Just to fit in with this idea of a bookshot. And now rather than […]

Review: The McCullagh Inn in Maine by Jen McLaughlin

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The McCullagh Inn in Maine by Jen McLaughlin, James Patterson Published by BookShots on August 25, 2016 Genres: Contemporary, Fiction, Novella, Romance, Thriller Pages: 160 Format: Paperback Source: Publisher Buy on Amazon Goodreads James Patterson’s BookShots. Short, fast-paced, high-impact entertainment. Her second chance at love… Chelsea O’Kane escapes to Maine with fresh bruises. She’s ready to begin anew – until she runs into her old flame, Jeremy Holland. As he helps fix up her inn, her heart heals and they rediscover what they once loved about each other. But as the two play house, it starts to seem too good to last… I loved that The McCullagh Inn in Maine has a little romance had elements of a thriller, with mystery and intrigue so wrapped up it was pretty hard to decide which story line I preferred.  At times I did feel that Chelsea’s secret overshadowed the romance between herself and Jeremy, especially […]
