Blog Tour / Review: Worth Fighting For by Kirsty Moseley

I received this book for free from Netgalley, Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Worth Fighting For by Kirsty Moseley Series: Fighting to Be Free #2 Published by Forever on December 6, 2016 Pages: 352 Format: E-Arc, Paperback Source: Netgalley, Publisher Buy on Amazon Goodreads Kirsty Moseley brings us the sequel to Fighting to be Free. It’s been years since Jamie Cole’s seen Ellie Pearce. He’s immersed himself in the life he’d once fought to leave and taken over his old turf–creating dangerous rivals. He has nothing to lose–until Ellie comes back to town. Ellie has moved on. She met a man in London–a man she’s marrying. She hardly allows herself to remember the boy who broker her heart at 18. But when tragedy strikes, Ellie’s forced to return to New York. She thought she could handle seeing Jamie again, but she can’t deny he’s still a part of her. Now amidst threats from Jamie’s enemies and fighting to keep her sister safe, Ellie must […]

Through the Letterbox: FairyLoot Steampunk Rebellion Unboxing

Welcome to Through the Letterbox and it is time for Round two! with my second subscription box from Fairy Loot, this months theme, Steampunk Rebellion.  This was so different from the first box it is easy to see how this appeals to everyone.  Fairy Loot is a monthly subscription ya book box based in the UK. The Box: In each box you can expect: One recently published Young Adult book, 4-6 goodies often related to the book, promotional items such as posters, bookmarks and a signed bookplate (whenever possible),  a unique hashtag that links you up with one other person receiving a box. The box is £26 plus shipping at £3.95 (if UK based) bringing it to a grand total of £29.95. Again I wish that the shipping is including in the price because it is like a hidden extra. When I heard that the September theme was Steampunk Rebellion, perfect for fans of The Infernal Devices (are you team Jem or team Will?), Divergent and general steampunk awesomeness. Having never read these series (I bow my head in shame) I knew this box […]

Blog Tour / Review: Chasing Embers by James Bennett

Chasing Embers by James Bennett Published by Orbit on September 6, 2016 Genres: Fantasy, Fiction Pages: 464 Format: E-Arc, Paperback Source: Netgalley, Publisher Buy on Amazon Goodreads There’s nothing special about Ben Garston. He’s just a guy with an attitude in a beat-up leather jacket, drowning his sorrows in a downtown bar. Or so he’d have you believe. What Ben Garston can’t let you know is that he was once known as Red Ben. That the world of myth and legend isn’t just a fantasy, as we’ve been led to believe. And he certainly can’t let you know the secret of what’s hiding just beneath his skin… But not even Ben knows what kind of hell is about to break loose. A centuries-old rivalry has just resurfaced, and the delicate balance between his world and ours is about to be shattered. Behind every myth, there’s a spark of truth… I was initially drawn to Chasing Embers because of the little sticker that states ‘may contain traces of dragon’. I am therefore super happy to report there is more than just a […]

Through the Letterbox: My Bookish Crate House Pride Box Review

Welcome to Through the Letterbox. So this  House Pride box is the first ever subscription box that I have ever received and I was super excited to see it in my post box. My Bookish Crate is a bi-monthly subscription book box based in the UK. The Box: In each box you can expect: a recently published Young Adult book and 4-5 bookish goodies related to the box’s theme The box is £28 plus shipping at £3 (if UK based) bringing it to a grand total of £31. The price for the box isn’t unreasonable although I do dislike paying for delivery (it should be included in the price!!). With everything you get though the box is well worth the price. When I heard that the August theme was Harry Potter House Pride I admittedly signed up. You got to pick your favourite house and that would be the basis for what was inside your box. I picked Gryffindor. The Unboxing: On opening the box I found a letter from Hogwarts (which I was super excited for!). A candle from Book & Nook […]
