Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot.
At twenty-eight, he's focused on getting his teaching degree and avoiding all the places and people that proved so destructive in his past. The last thing he's looking for is a serious relationship. But when he crosses paths with Maria Sanchez one rainswept night, his carefully structured life is turned upside down. And when Maria, a hardworking lawyer, meets Colin she begins to question every notion she has ever had about herself and her future - and what truly makes her happy.
Before the couple has a chance to envision a life together, menacing reminders from events in Maria's past begin to surface. And as the threat of violence begins to shadow her every step, she and Colin will be pushed to breaking point.
The stunning new love story from the multi-million-copy bestselling author, Nicholas Sparks, See Me is a story of obsession, reinvention and a love that defies every expectation.

Like all Nicholas Sparks books See Me play out the same – boy meets girl, they can not be together for some reason, things happen, it all works out in the end. Except this time there is a slight difference. There is a little bit of suspense and a little mystery. ooh.

And there were enough twists and turns to keep me intrigued and to keep me guessing. Although it probably helped that I went into this book blind, having not read the blurb. In hindsight this was probably a mistake because I was really confused at the beginning over what was happening and it took a while for me to understand what was going on…

The first half starts slowly, mainly because we have to deal with Collins ‘rage issues’, I was a bit incredulous about the whole thing and was glad when it became a background fact rather than a main issue.

See Me is a book I enjoyed, but I think my enjoyment was reduced a little bit because this was’t quite what quite what I was expecting. I wanted the familiarity, the certainty of knowing what I was getting into and I thought I was sorted with Nicholas Sparks. Except he added mystery to the mix.

as always this is a miss of emotion and heartbreak, times when I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, either way I was on a roller-coaster ride. But unlike actual rollor-coaster rides I actually enjoyed the thrills and the spills. And there are plenty of those to get your heart racing!

I feel like I spent most of this review moaning, but honestly I am not moaning! this is actually a book to curl up with, to enjoy and fall in love with. Just don’t be caught unaware like I was!
