My Anticipated Reads of 2016

So I think it times to state some of my anticipated reads of 2016!

These are some of the books that I cannot wait to get my hands on and read. There are others out there that I want to read as well. Although if I’m being honest most of them seem to be sequels. I’ve put them in date order here and NOT in order of preference.

This is the final book in the Red Rising Trilogy and I am so excited for this read. I feel like we have waited far too long for this book. I adored Red Rising and Golden Son so I have high hopes for this book.

If you haven’t yet read this series then I highly recommend it to you, this is a series that won’t leave you disappointed.

I first heard about this book at the Cheltenham Literature Festival where I was privileged enough to attend the Bloomsbury Book Party, and an extract of this book was read out by Meg Rosoff herself.

The extract was hilarious and I really wanted to run on stage and grab the book from Meg so that I could read it there and then. My plan probably wouldn’t have worked but I can always dream…

Another ending to a series that I am excited about. Calamity is the third book of The Reckoners Series.

I adored Steelheart and Firefight and this series is a lot ‘lighter’ than some of his other works. The series has a more YA feel and is an easy book to get into.

It also makes you grateful that we don’t have any epics around because while they can do cool things they like to rule a lot more than they like to help.

This is the final book in the Half Bad Trilogy and I am expecting great things from this book.

Also the title is really intriguing, I know it is the theme of the series, Half Bad, Half Wild but what does Half Lost actually mean. What is the significance of this title? What is it trying to hint at? And we a have a tree on fire as the cover. Confused is an under-investment. But luckily we only have to wait until the end of March to find out.

This series has been another great read. I feel so lucky with series at the moment.

If I’m being honest I can’t really remember what has happened in this series, what the cliffhanger was, etc. It feels like I read these books too long ago, all I remember is that I am excited for this book and I needed this book months and months ago.

This is the final book that I am excited for. And this I have high hopes for. This is mainly because the author delayed publication because she wanted to write a better book. I like the honesty of this and hopefully this means exciting times ahead.

It’s hard to think that this book will be out in November, I have 11 months to wait so I guess I’ll have to curb my curiosity for the outcome and reread the previous two books.

These are my anticipated reads of 2016. My question to you is what books are you excited to read in the coming year?

I need to catch up on the Winner Curse Trilogy – still have to read the second book. I think I’ll just wait til last one comes out so I can binge them. 🙂 It is very brave and honest of Erika Johansen to delay her book to make it better too – I love that. These are some great books – I hope they will be amazing reads for you!

Right now the one book I’m really eager for is The Dark Days Club which comes out in a couple weeks – it’s so hard to wait! 🙂

    • Ooh binge reading the Winner Curse Trilogy will be amazing. I can’t wait to see what will happen. But I’m hoping everything will be good 🙂

The Dark Days Club sounds like a really good read, may have to slip that one onto my ‘want-to-read’ pile haha. There are so many good reads coming out that its really hard to pick. And I really wish I had a time-machine at the moment because I’m finding it really hard to wait until the end of the year for some books!
